Well much has happened in this past week. Simply
a loss of data will change a mans life! I have had
crashes / lost data before, but not like this. Little to
say, I lost 3 Tutorials I have been working on, my
write up's on LiveMotion 2.0, GoLive 6.0 and AWWS 1.0,
as well as my final version of the Guestbook. WA! So
I have much work ahead.

You may ask if I have a backup. Yes, two, the system
lost one, I lost the other. ;-(

Murphy had his way with me this week! Lets press on!

Regards,
Jon T.

Adobe's Expert Center is a wonderful place to start
in learning LiveMotion. We say this because some
of the videos are taking from the Total Training CD.
So make sure that you have your latest QuickTime
Plug-in installed, LiveMotion open and your eyes wide
shut.

LMC Hot Tip #3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people have reported issues with text shifting
when bringing in an LM1 LIV or a LIV from another
Operating system, say MAC to PC. Text may look
squished, or stretched. To fix this issue, simply
select the text object, and change the font size up
one notch, and then back to the size you want. This
will reset your text object to the correct width and
height and remove any stretching you may have had
before.

Cool Site of the Week
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, you may think that this is a "cop out" on picking
a Cool Site of the Week, but I go there so much, I
have to post it.

Adobe Xchange is an incredible resource for sharing
files for not only LiveMotion, but a Nice list of Adobe
applications as well. The new features in the current
release of Xchange are really nice as well.

If you have not taken a look at Adobe Xchange, it
won't hurt a bit, stop on by, read, download and
contribute.

What's New
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After much research, I think I will be posting some
polls on the main page here soon. We are interested
to see where you all would like LiveMotionCentral to
go. We have our own ideas of what we want to offer
and see, but none of it means anything if you, the user
do not like it.

I will be putting some polls together to see if you would
like us to cover any additional applications, features,
etc... So keep your eyes on the front page, I should have
our first poll up this week.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's Coming
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the Guestbook was lost, but I have had my head
in this thing so much, it will be nothing to rebuild it,
stronger, better, faster! Besides the rework of my lost
tutorials, and write ups. You will be seeing some new
content this week.

Simon Dabkowski from LiveMotion Studio has spent
MANY hours putting together a killer forum for
LiveMotion Users. Not only does the forum include
an area for LiveMotion Users, but he also has areas
for GoLive, Photoshop and Illustrator. Interactive Poll's,
Internal Messaging and a great control panel make
Simon's forum a nice alternative to other LiveMotion
Forums.

We have been working more on the back end of LMC
these past few weeks, as well as researching a new
home for LMC. Current services are quickly becoming
inadequate for LMC. Some of you have been helping
and we are still trying to make a final decision.

You should also see the completion of several areas
in the next few weeks. We are looking to launching
the links section here as soon as possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's Coming
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Guestbook is nearing completion. We have run
into some problems with browsers. For some reason,
the newer browsers cache the text file created for the
Guestbook and then wont update if you post a second
message.

This is starting to look like something we won't be
able to get around at first.

The Guestbook does work correctly, and your first
post will be loaded correctly. If you post again, for
a second time, you will need to close your browser
application, launch it again, and then it will be viewable.

This is a horrible work around, but all attempts to
prevent file caching with ASP and CFML have not
worked. Gotta Love those new Browser Features (bugs)

Let me start out by saying that this has been a long
three weeks. Our last News Letter on the 1st. Was
a little earlier then normal, but we just had to let you
know what was going on.

We want to thank everyone for all of your support,
visiting the site, giving us feedback, and making
suggestions on what you would like to see next.

Thanks a Million!

LMC Hot Tip #1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dynamic Text and the %, & Characters!
Anyone that has been doing any work with the Text
Field tool, and external text files may have found that
the % and the & Characters will not display in the
text field. They would have also noticed that all the
text after either of these characters gets chopped as
well!

After several days of pulling our hair out, Joe and
Mary from Adobe Systems Inc. had this to say.

The reason the characters don't display is that
loadVariables uses URL format for the string. In URL
format, % is the same a as a space character, and
& represents a delimiter between variables. So you
can't use those characters "raw" in a text file, so to
speak. The solution is to use the % character in
conjunction with ASCII character codes.

To represent a % character, use %25 (ASCII is \u0025).
To represent an & character, use %26 (ASCII is \u0026).

Cool Site of the Week

Bob from Reality-Sucks.org has been busy putting
together a nice collection of Tutorials for LiveMotion 2.
Not only are the tutorials nice, but the site is pretty
slick. Bob has taken a clean looking approach to his
tutorial section and then breaks the rules by
CENTERING EVERYTHING!

People may think your head is making funny pops
while reading his tutorials, but its well worth the pain.
His tutorials are clean looking and too the point, not
to mention in TWO LANGUAGES!!!

What's New
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before LiveMotionCentral was even up and running, Willy
from Kalai-Hawaii was putting together tutorials for LM1.
These are great tutorials for those that are still using
Adobe LiveMotion 1.0.

We have added some Library Items and will be adding
more. Check out the Simple Form Library Item and then
get it working by following our tutorial on LiveMotion 2
and Forms

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's Coming
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently working on a New Library Item, which
will be a Guestbook, and then follow that up with a
tutorial on getting it all going. When that is done, we
will start pounding out some of the more requested
tutorials on Pre loaders, working with Sound, and more
Animation as well as some book reviews!

LMC has been working hard to provide examples of
LM2 for your viewing. Checkout the site and see the
new examples we have uploaded.

New Examples:
4. Safe Cracker: An Interactive Safe Cracker with
rotating dials.

5. Drag -n- Follow: Drag one object and watch the other
follow. Velocity plays a key factor in this animations
example.

6. Blinky Things: Its simple looking, but in the right
conditions could be a lot of fun!

7. Logical Animation: A huge request in LM1 that
could not be done. A Multi-path animation that
WONT continue to the next path, until the first is
complete (CLICK AWAY)!

8. Volume Control: This example controls the volume
of any sound file placed at the root of the LIV. Very
easy to use, very easy to install... IT EVEN GOES
TO 11! We even made the file a little larger so you
could see the Percentage / Bar / Kb pre-Loader.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The future of LiveMotionCentral.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we have said so many times. LMC is working

think of anything that you would like to see on LMC,
please drop us a letter at info@lmcentral.com.

On January 7th, we announced a name change
for LMC. Because of this change, LMC will be going
through some small changes. All of our email
address's will be changing from lmcentral.com to
livemotioncentral.com. We will send a message out
when this change has been completed. If you have
any problems contacting us, please bare with us, if
we have any down time, it should only be for a day.
