Description:
This tutorial will take your through the basic process of editing
a Group or TIG. You have created your Group or TIG and now you need
to add or delete objects from them. |

Editing Groups and TIGs
|
| |
Can I change this Group and TIG?
Ok so now you have created the Group or the TIG and you need to
edit it, "How do we edit it?" editing a Group or a TIG can be confusing
but it can be done. You can add, delete, change the properties,
and almost anything you need changed.
Changing things like the transformation keyframes, color, opacity,
and the other things you can do with object are done in the same
manner as working with objects. All you need to do is expand the
Group or TIG and highlight the object in the Group or the TIG and
make your changes.
Deleting an object from a Group or a TIG is quite simple as well.
All you need to do there is highlight the object and hit the delete
key. This will delete the object from the Group or TIG.
Adding objects or moving objects into a Group or a TIG is just
a little more complicated. But you can add or move objects to a
Group or a TIG. This tutorial will focus on this. We shall assume
you know how to edit an object.
Say you have an object which you have on the canvas and you want
to moving into a Group or a TIG, "Can this be done?" Yes can move
an object into a Group or a TIG. We shall outline how this is done.

| |
Editing a Group or TIG
To begin we shall look at the example on the right. We see three
objects on the canvas but are they objects, Groups, or TIGs. To
really tell we need to look at the timeline to be sure.
|
Objects on the Canvas |
|
| |
This timeline and canvas shows you a objects on the canvas. There
is no groups or TIGs shown on this timeline. This is the reason
why the viewing the timeline is so important.

Moving an Object into a Group
This timeline and canvas shows you objects on the canvas. There
is one group and no TIGs shown on this timeline. You can tell by
looking at the timeline. If you rename a Group you should name in
such a way that you know that it is a group and not an object. i.e.
MyGrp, MyGroup, and My Group to give a few examples

Step 3: Next you will need to expand the group and then
select the Sub-Selection Tool
from the Tool Palette. After doing that select an
object in the Group. You can do this in one of two
ways 1.) you can pick an Object in the Group from
the canvas or 2.) you can pick an Object from the
Group using the timeline.

Step 4: Then paste the new object into the group. Edit
=> Paste from the menu.
With that you have now moved an object from the canvas into a group.
To delete an object all you need to do is expand the
group, highlight the object, and then delete the object.
Lastly, to add an object to a Group this is rather
simple as well. First you will need to expand the
Group then select the Sub-Selection Tool
from the Tool Palette.. From there create your Object
and edit it as you would any Object and that is all
you have to do. Pretty simple isn't it. With this
we will end looking at Groups and start looking at
editing a TIG.
