About LiveMotionCentral.com

LiveMotionCentral.com was originally going to be azlmcentral.com,
but that idea was quickly scraped after I had met
Tono of Vivid
CGD. After several discussion's of what we wanted
to do, and how we would offer it, we came up with
the name lmcentral.com and started to contact various
organizations to inform them of our intentions. After
several communications, we found that LiveMotionCentral.com
would be a better name to use, after all, I did want
to use LiveMotionCentral over lmcentral but felt it
may cause some problems, I guess we were wrong.
Before the final name was decided, I wanted to start
generating some excitement over the idea, to see how
everyone would respond. I did not want to poor hours
upon hours into a site that no one would really want
to use, nor was interested in. So after several posts
to the Adobe U2U forums, we found that the general
response from everyone, was pretty favorable. I had
decided to announce who was behind the idea, at first,
I was a bit worried, I had questioned myself wondering
if the LM U2U community, knowing me, and my work,
would feel I could pull this off, and continue to
accept the idea. I was extremely surprised.
The next step was to continue to generate interest
in the site, I felt that a string of contests while
we were developing the site would do just the trick.
So we started off by announcing the First LMCentral.com
"Logo" contest. There were some really great
entries and after several recounts, Bob from reality-sucks.org
took First and Second place, I think he was quite
shocked, and even though Bob does not believe in Peanut
button, he had the bread and jam to make the P-n-J.
Next we held our second contest for site design. I
actually thought we would not get that many submissions,
but again we did, some were really interesting, some
were great designs for a portal site, which is what
LMC was going to be, a portal to local and outside
resources. The "Interface" design contest
went great, and after several recounts again, we had
found that Tono took first place by a storm!
So, now we had our logo, and we had our design, time
to start cracking! After a month or so of working
on the site is when we found that changing the name
from lmcentral.com to LiveMotionCentral.com would
work better, so we did. ( Sorry Bob ) So after TONS
of hours of work, deciding final colors, logo, navigation,
layout, structure, code, features, here it is LiveMotionCentral.com.
If I could only relate, how many times we rebuilt
this site, code, color, everything, and we have only
started. When you have taken a moment to review the
site, use it, kick its tires, or server, please take
another moment of your time and complete our Feedback
form. This site is for you, its not for us, everything
that will be in this site, will be made by you, the
LiveMotion Developer, for other Developers, your feedback
on how the site functions, runs and navigates is extremely
important to us. Educate us on how the site runs and
works for you as a visitor, user, contributor.
Best Wishes
